Ryan's Birthday Party

We had Ryan's birthday party a couple of weeks after his actual birthday.  I wanted to have it at a local church's playscape, but couldn't get it around his actual birthday.  It was such a fun party!  The kids all seemed to have a blast!  I know Ryan and Lillian were completely worn out after 2 hours of playing with a short break for snacks and a cupcake.  Thank you to everyone who made it.  It was so much fun and Ryan enjoyed seeing everyone there!

Grammy met us for our weekly toddler time at the library.  Ryan wanted to ride with her, but we had to install his carseat first.  Of course, my little monkey climbed on the center console and popped his head out of the sunroof.  Such a goofball.

Ryan insisted on wearing this head band all.day.long.  We ran a couple of errands (this was HEB) then we went to a friend's house to swim and play.  He left it on the entire time I did get some weird looks while out, but who cares.  He wanted to leave it on.

Water Hop Scotch with Eva

Eva invited us over to play with her new water hopscotch game.  The kids had a great time.  Lillian spent most of the time with the water table and walking up and down the driveway.  Eva and Ryan were enjoying a popsicle on the front porch, when Lillian walked up to them (she has to be where Ryan is at all time) and Eva motioned for Lilly to go away (in her mind it was for big kids only) and Ryan said "No, Eva, Lilly is my sister and she can stay."  So sweet.  I love to watch Eva and Ryan work out their differences.  Her mom and I don't have to intervene as much as we used to.  We have taught each of our kids to be respectful and kind, not to mention express themselves verbally, rather than yelling, pushing, or crying.  They are communicating so well with one another. We can tell our hardwork is paying off!

4th of July

This year our community fireworks were cancelled due to the lack of rain and burn bans in the area.  But the scheduled concert and other fun activities were still on.  We headed out at 6:30 and planned to stay about an hour, but the kids were having so much fun we stayed well past their bedtime.   There was lots popcorn and sno cones eaten, and Ryan got his face painted for the first time.  He was so proud of it and didn't want me to wash it off during his bath.

He asked for a star.  He had the option of red or blue, and he chose red.
