For Thanksgiving this year we drove up to my Grandparent's house in New Braunfels. It was such a nice and relaxing trip and Ryan did great! We spent the first evening in Gruene and ate at the Gristmill, which was delicious. Ryan only took a 20 minute nap on the way to their house, so we were a little worried about him being out at dinner, but he was perfect (maybe delirious from no sleep). Thanksgiving morning we took Ryan down the street to the beautiful park on the river. He, of course, had a blast. My Grandparents live in such a lovely area, as you can see from the pictures below. My Grandma Trudy prepared a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner with all of the traditional food. I think we all ate way too much. Ryan didn't like any of it, but the bread. He is going through a very picky phase right now. We took it easy and rested off our food coma the rest of the day. We had to leave the following day around lunch time. We wish we could have stayed throughout the entire weekend b/c we were having such a great time. Thanks for hosting Thanksgiving Grandma and Grandpa!!
Unfortunately, I forgot my nice camera at home. Can you imagine how amazing these pictures would have been if I had my fast shutter and better camera? I did have my point and shoot in my diaper bag though. But, of course, no charger. It ran out of battery after we fed the ducks, so I didn't get any more pictures from the weekend. I was really disappointed.

20 weeks
Today was our second trimester ultrasound (I can't believe that we are 1/2 through the pregnancy already). This is the "big" ultrasound where they measure all of the baby's organs, bones, heart, brain, etc. The technician said that from what she could tell everything looked great and she is measuring perfectly! The radiologist will analyze the images and we will hear back from them in a couple of days. We got another confirmation that Lillian is a girl, not that we were worried. She was very active during the ultrasound. It was fun for us to watch, but probably a little frustrating for the technician. She was bouncing and flipping all around. She seems to have a lighter touch than Ryan did at this point. Rob could feel Ryan by now and he isn't close to feeling Lillian move yet. Her movements feel more like brush strokes than kicks. It is funny how I can tell a difference. We got a CD with a bunch of images. I have attached one of her face.

Some pictures of Lillian
I had an ultrasound today to confirm the baby's gender and I am happy to say that she is still a girl. The blood test that was done has a small human error rate, so they bring you in "just in case". The sonogram technician was really nice and gave us a little extra time and pictures today. My mom was with me, so she got to see a lot of Lilly and we got to see some neat things about her. For example, in the picture that says "Hi Mom and Dad" she was facing the camera and opened her mouth. I know to most these look like a bunch of black and white goop, but I assure you they are of our baby!

Happy Halloween!!
This year was Ryan's second Halloween and he seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. We started out the day by carving pumpkins and then took a long walk to enjoy the amazing weather. We had a block party to go to after Ryan's nap and that pretty much wore him out. He loved playing with the other kiddos, watching the kids in the bouncy house, and just being outside. He truly enjoyed all of the Halloween treats and being spoiled by our neighbors! We later took him home and changed him into his costume to trick or treat a little bit before dinner. He didn't completely understand the concept but had fun none the less. Once we started getting trick-or-treaters at our house, he enjoyed going to the door to see all of the costumes. Ryan completely ran out of steam at 7:00 and was in bed and asleep by 7:15 (an hour early). Since it was day light savings, we were worried about him waking up super early. Not our kiddo! He slept until 7:00 (almost 13 hours of sleep!).

This is a picture of Ryan's 1st Halloween. I remember we gave him his first solid food on Halloween last year. What a difference a year makes!!
We hope that everyone had a safe and fun night!!
